Mountain Green Symposium

Warren Wilson College’s Environmental Leadership Center, with guidance and support from the Mountain Green Steering Committee, convenes the Mountain Green Conference Mountain Green is a year-long program of The Environmental Leadership Center of Warren Wilson College (ELC) that began in 2006. With leadership from a Steering committee representing western NC, Mountain Green provided an annual conference from 2006-2010 that featured experts in architecture, development, energy, and construction to discuss best practices along with a professional vendor expo with displays of sustainable technologies. It still provides , a public seminar series, and a service component INSULATE! to promote sustainable community practices for our mountain region.

Mountain Green was first conceived by Bob Deutsch, who believed that our beautiful mountain region should be developed in the most responsible and sustainable fashion possible. He chairs, and two other members of the firm, Tikkun Gottschalk and Perry Dror, have also been members of the Steering Committee since the conference's inception. The firm has also been a constant sponsor of Mountain Green.
